color invasion!

It hit me last night (as most things do) that due to the title of this blog, i should write more fashion TIPS for people and less, "this is what i want to be when i grow up" bull crap, although i will still try to do that. so that is what im going to do, give out fashion tips to the general population.

So... today's subject, or shall i say tonight since I'm actually writing this at about 11:30 P.M. by the light of my iPod is COLOR!! or more of color coordination. Im sure you have all seen it. some one dressed in all one color, or pretty damn close to it, because they are trying to match, or not put completely random things together. i completely understand that they don't want to look like a rainbow. the problem is that they don't know how to not overload.

For example, if i wanted to wear a green shirt, then i would possible wear a black hat with a green logo on it. because with colors in everyday clothing (I'm not talking dresses, where i have no experience what so ever) you have to use accents with colors, just subtle things to support the main component of your out fit with which you want to show off.

Now other than simply avoiding it all together, there are ways to combat color overload. worst case scenario, and this is honestly 100% from first hand experience, the only clean pair of pants you have are purple. and, JUST YOUR LUCK! the only clean T-shirt you have is purple. What do you do?

Make the purple not so noticeable by using colors close to it on the color wheel. such as blue in this case, to work with the purple. i used a blue over shirt and a blue hat to make it look like that mistake was all planned out.

So remember subtle accents to support the main component of your outfit. and if you have no choice but to color overload, use colors that are close to each other on the color wheel. E.G. Reds with yellows and oranges, blues with greens and purples, and other combination's. a main theme may also help with coordination!

Thanks for reading, if you liked this blog or want any more personal advice feel free to comment.
